Young Adult
I was browing bookstores online looking for books and noticed the term Young Adults. While it is not the first time I notice this term, but it was the first time I ever thought about it. So I checked a list of books classified for young adults, and they looked to me as a mixture of books for teens to 20something persons.
On Wiki,
A young adult is in the stage between adolescence and mature adulthood, roughly ages 18 to 25. It may also refer to in
Psychology to persons aged 20 to 40 and in literature, works targeted to ages 12 to 18.
That does not clarify anything to me and I am still confused. Am I considered a young adult psychologically, or should I be a young adult because some of the books that I might like are targeted for a younger age? Why have such a term anyways? Does that mean people over the max. age limit would be considered adults, or as old adults?
On another subject, I am pleased to say that I am approaching post #1000, which will be done a bit differently and possibly with special guests contributing.
