The Purgatorian Collection

Tonight, Stallion and myself decided that due to lack of interest in Edo, as many were busy, that we should try Kaizen, which has been getting decent reviews from many people, so on we went after a quick visit to Sears.

When we arrived, we saw Suli and Abs (the traitors) and we know now why they do not show at Edo anymore!! So later on we got a table, in the dark place, which seats roughly 40 people, and looked at the menu. It had some items we knew, but many were different. Of course after being used to the best sushi in town, EDO, anything else is risky.

I started with the Hot and Sour soup, which was decent, more Chinese than Japanese for me, followed by their own version of the famous Edo Crab Salad. Their Edamame was little and looked odd. The salad was average, I still perfer Edo. The Tuna handroll was very good and fresh, I liked it.

For Maki’s we got the Crazy, Fuji and Hurai (I think that was its name). The best of the bunch was the Crazy, very tasty, while the other two were ok, but came with a sweet sauce. Our friend decided to order the Kyoto, which was good also and by then we figured out the trend. Sweet sauce ruins the sushi taste, while spicy sauce is good. So for the last order, we got the Manayer sushi. I have no clue who she is, but lady, your sushi choice is excellent, and the presentation was very unique, take a look.

The Sushi chef is very good and does a good job in preparing the dishes, so if you hate Maki like us, and know they are just a fake imitation of Sahran, then Kaizen is a better alternative.

Later in the evening, we were joined by a very beautiful lady, who was very pleasent to see and talk to, wish she came earlier.

Overall rating is 8/10. Worth it when you want a change from Edo, but Edo Pride never dies.
